My Bucket List

I saw this movie called “The bucket list”, starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, a couple of days back. It was a really good movie and I was motivated to create a bucket list as well (i know its waaay too early for one but i did it anyway) so here goes:

1) Take my parents to Disney Land!
2) Try parachuting from a jet
3) Fire a Magnum at a firing range(a .357 S&W preferably )
4) Help animals in need
5) Inspire someone
6) Motivate a Stranger
7) Give a speech without stuttering
8 ) Sleep for more than 10 hours(when not on any medication)

14) Fund a kids education

19) Perform a proper SWOT analysis of myself
20) Visit Stewe Irwin’s croc zoo

23) To implement one of my business ideas and run it profitably (anyone wanna donate? )

Oh and the most important one is finding the answers to the 2 questions asked in the movie. Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The questions are:

a) Did you find joy? (i have so i guess 50% of the work is over )
b) Did you bring joy to anyone ? (This i have to research)

I caught(handled) a SNAKE!!!! Yaaaaaay!!!

It was a completely awesome experience….!!!! I was walking along my garden searching for grasshoppers to feed my flowerhorn and stopped suddenly! Right in front of my eyes there was a snake, a lil longer than a feet, very slim, orange and brown in color with a half swallowed frog in its mouth!!!!! Adrenaline rushed into my brain! at first i wanted to run :p but i composed myself, got the stick (this was the stick the snake catcher guy from guindy had used to catch a 5-6 foot long snake near my house). By then the snake had completely regurgitated the frog and was searching for an escape route!!!! Episodes of stewe irwin came rushing into my head! slowly but firmly i held the snakes head with the stick. I wanted to lift the snake but i remembered a jeff’s episode where he had warned not to lift small snakes as they can climb back on their bodies very easily!!!! (i was literally shaking by then!!! not with fear but with excitement!!!) so anyway i had to do SOMETHING!!!! i took the tail and twirled the snakes body around the stick, lifted the stick and lowered it outside my compound on one of the thick bushes(of weeds and acacia) and the snake just slithered away!!!! wooohooooh!!!! it was totally AWESOME (i was actually jumping around and shouting)!!!!!!! It had been one of my greatest wishes to handle a snake all by myself!! and i did it(good thing my mum wasnt there… got scolding later saying that snakes have good memory and if hurt will curse us and it will affect future generations blah blah … wateva :p)(though i hope i hadn’t hurt the snake… i really didnt wanna hurt the snake)!!! yaaaaaaaaaaaaay !!! There are other wishes too….for ex-If only i could get a tarantula to walk up my arm somehow !!!

End of coll life

Ok like the exams got over last month, but the marks came in only yesterday :p and pappu paas aitaan!!! yaaaaay so i’m officially a graduate and an engineer!!!! whew 4 loooong years of boredom and struggle finally comes to an end and like most final years i’ll review the days passed by

Well, looking back i wouldn’t say my college life had much to think about as my school life was a whole lot better(but then i’m not here to talk about my school :p) !!! I made some really wonderful friends in coll (also met some great staff!)!!! Each person with a different personality and know how! i learnt a lot from each one of them(especially the fact that there is no word called “tensed” i’ll never forget that one!!!) and have to thank them for having had such patience with me :p We did have our part of fun by participating in competitions etc and who could forget the preps for the competitions!!!!! those comical robot building sessions, group discussions for drdo and material hunt are things that will remain painted on the walls of my inner den forever :p (ok well i dunno if that was a correct comparison :p bear with me ppl )
and then came the b’day celebs! gaud !! it was such fun in missy’s house, at the orphanage, papa’s hotel trip, dani’s and my place, the night group study at pandi’s place etc !! these are memoirs that will not only remain transfixed in my head but also be a light to look up to during gloom and now after 4 years everyone feels so close yet so far! each person trying to figure out the meaning of their existence and pursue their dreams! as for me, i’m still searching for a job :p but there will always be a nagging feeling in my mind asking me “is this what i really want??” or am i pretending that this is what i want?? ” …?? well i dont think i’ll ever find an answer to that
(ok like this is goin outta topic :p)
anyway! this is what i wanted to say thanks a lot ppl for everything and i wish each one of ya all the best and pray that u come out in flying colors in watever you do

My first flowerhorn!!!

After a month of searching and bargaining i finally get my flowerhorn for 100 bucks!!!! i think its a ZZ strain or maybe a RB ! god knows! but the fact is that i got my flowerhorn!!!! cute lil guy! named him ZEN(considering he is a male i.e :p! got him on 4th from Dolphin aquarium, santhome! and within a week he’s developed a light pink colour and a black line on his anal fin!!! interactive and loves to zoom into his cave and peep from inside :p its really fun watching this guy!!! but then he’s really aggressive!!! tore out half of my pleco’s tail fin and killed both my tigers! so he’s presently a loner in his tank

Currently feeding him Chili humpy head from Taiyo(got it free for zen ), Taiyo flakes, “Ai.m’s” Ever red gold fish pellets and R&R’s freeze dried tubifix worms!! (he just loves the worms even jumps to get them :p) He also gets black ants, mosquito larvae and ant larvae from time to time :p will be getting Xo red of Ai.m once the goldfish pellets get over :p If i find ching mix though i’ll get that first

and my apple snails are growing raelly great, really fast :p i don have pics now will update soon!!!! i never thought they’d do so well outdoors! I threw them into the outdoor tank when they completely destroyed my planted tank….!!! ate all the young leaves and completely chomped off the ambulia !!! gosh, it was an absolute disaster! though now plants growin fine!! will put pic in next post!!!

My B’day!!! :D

yaay :p My b’day !!! the last person to celeb in our group i guess :p (talkin with respect to coll group ) oh well !!! I had actually planned for an orphanage visit with everyone but then mum said NO! coz well she wanted b’day celeb to be separate and orphanage separate visit!! So i planned to go to a hotel or maybe pizza corner with everyone!!! ppl agreed(though aparna wanted house cooking :p)…. Suddenly these guys call me 2 days before my b’day and ask for house cooking! they talk to mum and get permission (so i guess i didnt have much say in the matter….. adi got a bit worried though ) So well the night before my b’day we have a group chat to finalize the menu!!! adn what do ppl come out with, just think :p Noodles, pasta, Breadizza(gaud ), soup, thachi mammu, cake (VV la vara menu madiri )!!! (adi was like waaaah )!! so anyway the menu was planned and tasks were distributed as follows:
1. soup = adi
2. noodles = all
3. pasta = karz mainly
4. curd rice… = all
5. cake = dani
6. chips/ choc = missy
7. icecream = papa
8.sweet = all
9. popcorn = all

So well anyway i had a really tiring day on 6th! The fact that these ppl were coming meant i had to clean the whole house! It all started at 5 am on 6th morning! and i completed cleaning most of the house by 6 pm (kitchen not my responsibility :p though i cleaned the stove…. it was shining!!!) and god was i tired! but then went with mum in the evening and got noodles packets(maggi ) and pasta and few other needed things !! then i Officially(:p) invited everyone incl akka and shiny (both didnt come but then akka had exam and dani didnt bring shiny!! agrrrrrrr!)Slept off after multiple chats !!!

7th march : woken up at 2 am i think thanks to my message alert (kkoooooniiiichiwaaaaaaa!! thats how my mobile screams for a message ) prabhu had wished me but i didnt have the energy to reply dozed off :p woke up again at 6 i think…. lots of messages and couple of missed calls (i had slept through all that noise! gaud ) so anyway few ppl called up to wish, mum wished, had tea, washed the house once adn got everything ready and went for a bath!! and i come out to see papa waiting on the couch lol! he was the first guy to come! prabhu picked him up from bus stand after 40 mins or so missy and karz drop in…!! then aparna, adi and karunmurthy and finally dani (late as always ) karz adn missy had started cooking the psata by then ! gaud! orae comedy anniki! all new styles of making maggi (i turned out fine though) everything was cooked and rady by 1:40 i think!!! adi had bought me a kurta(akka’s selection as i easily figured ) so i go and wear it! ppl had arranged everything on the table (candle lighting again comedy :p i really cant put it in words ) and with the b’day song on full blast on my sony 5.1 i cut my cake(cake had so much writing on it they didnt have space to put happy birthday !!!) and well everyone ate and started for their houses :p dats it :p

Dani’s B’day!!!

Dani’s b’day(12th feb) didnt turn out as i thought it would but then it was fun as well!!! :p bit tiring though
After the feeding bottle incident at sangeetha, missy got mahima’s number from dani’s mobile (i know its not ethical but then we just had to get her number coz she was his good (school & coll) friend as well :p).
Myself and missy had decided a fish tank as a gift in the morning…. but then i had a doubt that he wouldnt be able to maintain a fish tank (i mean look at the betta he gave me…. it was in a remorseful! (its healthy now though :p thanks to me )) so i asked dani if he’d like a fish tank for his b’day (i know…. very dumb! but then its difficult to maintain a fish tank) and pat came the reply “No chance :p”…. i told this to missy and after a few scoldings :p we decided on birds in a cage :p!!! Now none in our group except dani knew about birds….. i took up the responsibility of getting the birds nevertheless :p …. So after sangeetha, i go home, browse a bit and then go to kizhkattalai pet shop for ordering the birds (it was 9:15 when i left…. mum was pretty annoyed )…. adn my god there are so many birds there i didnt know what to choose :p. so i ask that guy if a cage and 2 birds will fit my budget(rate undisclosed for obvious reasons ) That guy it will so i tell him to keep a cage ready adn that i’ll come the next day to get the birds… All done!!!woohooh :p Next comes the cake!!! missy had called mahima meanwhile and arranged the meet… so it was their part to get the cake…. though i did not know how they were gonna get cakes at 10 in the morning :p!!!! Anyway the next morning me and papa start at 9:45, get the birds(gaud! it was a real comedy! papa holding the birds on the pillion adn everyone staring at us :p) and start to dani’s place!!!! missy and mahima come there! we order the cake a bakery nearby(good cake!!) and wait there for the cake…. Just think 2 boys, 2 girls with a bird cage waiting at a bakery :p lol! orae comedy! with missy trying to play with the hoop inside adn putting it down and again trying to fix it :p frequent opening of the bird cage to pick up the hoop and papa complaining of bad quality slice :p and us deciding wat name to put as icing on the cake (we finally decided on “Dandanaka Dani” :p) papa naming the birds “PAVAM 1 & 2″ (its P-Parikshith, A-arvind, V-vindhya, A-Aparna, M-Mahima…. Papa nee scene da :p) !!!! So we get the cake and start to dani’s place and guess what the dumbo is not there (ok we knew he’d be late but then we were late as well!) and so we wait and wait…. suddenly missy says lets hide our shoes so that he wouldnt find out(kashtapattu madi ku poi en shoeva vachaen!) we hide the cake thinking we’ll be able to hear his bike before he comes in which will be time enough for a surprise!!! but guess what!! the guy suddenly walks in! orae BULBU! but still we were all there to greet him so its ok we get the cake out…. Dani cuts, we sing etc etc :p He was very happy on getting another pair of birds !!!! then mahima gives her gift (evolo periya key-chain! thaangala ) dani gets bulb as the bulb doesnt glow unlike always :p (guess mahima forgot to change batteries ) Then we apply cream on everyones face (which was real hard to wash off )!!! And… then we spend time sitting and chatting dats it (well wat else did u expect? ) that my dear fellos was dani’s b’day Blast (ok well not much of a blast :p but still…. )

Papa’s B’day!!!!

This was(lets face it ) the most comical b’day celebs(yet) and the one that was not very well planned.  Though we had planned to give papa a feeding bottle with appy in it 2 weeks before, we could not decide what to gift him. My first suggestion(as always ) was the coffee mug, to which ppl objected as it was an old idea. we could not decide what to present him even on 9th feb(day before his b’day). Missy talked of Tshirts and shoes etc etc (b’day ku seruppu tara!! paavam avan :p). We were undecided even on 10th morning :p we did not know what to do! Then i pushed my mug idea into their heads, they accepted. :p next came the meeting place, we couldnt plan this properly as we had college that day(review actually ). so we decided to hold the meet the next day by bunking college :p The plan was first to draw papa out of the house and have a party at his place, which(again) couldnt be properly planned. We decided to take him to a hotel instead for a treat!!! and Adyar sangeetha hotel was the place!!! Everyone took a day off on 11th on pretexts of doing project work (we really were supposed to do…. but never did it :p). Anyway, we had to find a picture for the cup!!! Gaud, was anything else this difficult! i had to sort through sooo many different photos onilne and on my hard-disk that my eyes started to water! i selected 2 photos and HAD to call missy to decide which was the better one. she decided on the less funnier one and now i had to crop it and mask the background (another nerve-wrecking job!) it took me two hours (and a lil idea from missy) to make that picture look good!!! (sheesh!) SO(finally, whew) i  run of to dil-se-bol at around 10. Place the order which he promised to deliver by 3 (great guy he is! and he remembered me :p so good i guees) i come back,  call up papa around noon and tell him that we’ll be going out regarding project work in the evening to adyar to meet a professor (i knew he wouldnt have believed it ). We decided to meet up at 5 sometime. i pick up papa at around 4:15,  start for sangeetha and for some reason took a wrong left turn!( really i dunno wat happened! i was like “where the hell am i goin?” adyar poda na velachery checkpost kitta irukkae??)  so i took a u-turn and reached adyar at 5:30 (i know, late, but no one had reached yet) couple’o mins later dani calls and we meet, missy comes there as well….. so all assembled!!(attention! i never thought missy would buy the feeding bottle, she REALLY HAD! lol) and misssy had found the perfectly annoying spot for the celebs, right next to the staris and I had to sit there(others all get comfy, grrrrr!) (oh and all this time papa was like “wat the hell?? ” :p) and  we tell him its his b’day treat and give him the gifts (feeding bottle went in first ) There he was, Papa, openeing it slowly tryng to firure out wat was inside, by which time missy got impatient :p opened it, pulled out the feeding bottle a bit(it was wrapped with a plastic cover) and left it there. Again, papa pulls it out slowly(maybe he thought it was a pipe bomb!!! moron i tell u ) and takes out the cover andddddd puts his head down, laughing (c’mon now seriously i expected a better reaction) he kept looking at the bottle, shaking his head, laughing lol and i was taking the video all that time. The moment papa took out the bottle, i chanced to look at the people on the next table and they were laughing as well :p(one guy actually had a dosa piece near his mouth with his mouth open and was thinking whether to laugh or eat the piece, he finally put it down and started laughing :p lol!!!) orae comedy!papa was like “i really did not expect THIS!” so we tell him thestory and blah blah…. next comes the mug which he removes and says “now this is great :p” (note the point that, the ppl at the next table got pretty inquisitive then, and were trying to eye the mug ) The mug(as before) had turned out real great ! (bravo to dil-se-bol :p). So, blah blah, we finish eating, drinking coffee, paid the bill and come down to the parking lot. (now comes the fun part) Papa, now had to drink the appy from the feeding bottle :p (paavam avan) He tries and nothing comes out (guess missy forgot to poke a hole in it :p shey! ) so papa removes  the nipple and drinks straight form the bottle gaud! it was great really. We were laughing for like nearly 10 mins :p which gave missy ample time to get a phone number which was necessary for dani’s b’day the very next day :p (Wait for the next post ppl ) Dats it for now!!!will be back with dani’s b’day celebs.

Aparna’s B’day

Aparnas b’day(1st feb) went great and as with all b’day plans something went wrong just before the party. Gangs said he cannot come so it was just myself, dani and missy as the team. Oh well no probs i guess. :p But then i was a bit worried when myself and dani had to get the cakes and biscuits. i mean 200 cakes in 5 boxes and a huge cover with marie gold biscuit packets on a bike with the pillion rider(dani) is gotta be worrying :p We managed to reach avvai home well in advance and safe as well. though the cakes were a bit mashed which was unavoidable

So then we went in and i asked the ayyah there for the students to sing Happy birthday song for aparna and they said ok will do. 15 minutes later missy and aparna arrived. The students were called cakes were distributed( lotsa confusion here with aparna asking us to distribute and missy and dani taking turns with my mobile for photo shoot etc etc.) We eventually distributed  the cakes. Then aparna called few of the girls to play games, there were around 10 i think. all kutti girls calling us akka, anna. Had a good game of running and catching, kho kho and the blindmans fold. it was nice playing running and catching after so many years but then they were too fast for us :p so anyway we said our tatas at 5:50 something, went to aavin, had ice creams and again said tatas to ourselves. :p dats it i guess

It was real fun at the home. it was something i had never done because i get sorta sad on seeing those kids. it well affects me deeply, i cant express it. If it wasnt for the games i would’ve been a bit down yesterday so i guess the kutti’s helped me after all. Though it got really heart wrenching when they asked us “Thiruppi eppo na varuveenga?” . I had to muster a lot of energy to smile and say(to that girl in purple dress semma runner!!) “en b’day ku varuvaen” and give a wink to them. Left me shaking really.

So that was the 1st of feb! great day :p fun day

Second custom tank

And my second custom glass tank is ready!!!! This time its a hexagonal tank!!! Cousin pestered me for a tank so i made it for him. though i might not give it to him . This is the tank

So thats the tank!! i’m also planning to put a divider in the middle somewhere so that it can house two bettas. Another plan is to make a proper hood with few LED lights and out it in a few plants! will look cool i guess.  The base has a little flaw as it can be seen. the base glass is thin which made it difficult to break properly i mean the crack not only propagated along the crease i made but in all directions (real annoying… wasted a lot of glass. got hurt as well ) I’ve stuck thermocol to the base now (looks better).

Custom Tank!!!!

Atlast i built a fish tank and that too successfully!!!! It was real fun doin it!!! And the fact that it didnt leak a bit was like woohoooh!!! I have put my 3 bettas in it and they love it!!! (not the one i got from dani though…. its still not very active!) Tau and speedo are havin real fun :p glaring at each other all the time.

So how is it?? i’m real glad it turned out rite! :p
